We include these FARO drivers on this page for the convenience of our VTube-LASER customers. Whether or not you are an Advanced Tubular VTube-LASER user, please feel free to download and use these drivers.

FARO 6.10.55

Bug Fixes: Addressed bug in Quantum Max when LLP is active probe within the driver, but not connected to the Arm, resulting in performance lag.

FARO 6.10.53

The main reason for the reason of version 6.10.53 is to add support for a new low-cost LLP offering of FARO, the FAROBlu xE. The FAROBlu xE will look exactly like the FAROBlu xP (the FARO mid-range model) but with a throttled maximum scan rate, reduced maximum points per line and reduced accuracy.

Since the FAROBlu xE will not be sold in the US and Canada, this FARO driver update currently does not apply to US and Canadian customers.

Note: This driver is the minimum required for MAX scanners. It contains internal logic to handle the new scanner kinematic mounts. Older versions do not have this logic and will not work with the MAX.

This driver is recommended if you have VTube-LASER version 2.9.17 build 42 or newer (January 17, 2019) installed.

This version fixes a bug in the Movement Filter. In the previous versions, if the Movement Filter value was zero and the Movement Filter was disabled, then no laser data was passed to VTube-LASER. This version does not have that problem.

This driver is recommended if you have VTube-LASER version 2.9.17 build 42 or newer (January 17, 2019) installed.

Performance Boost: We have confirmed speed improvements in this version compared to previous versions. There seems to be less lag time when switching from laser to ball and back. Also, the scan collection speed seems improved. We recommend this version over the previous versions.

Warning: If you do not have at least version 2.9.14, then please do not install this driver until you upgrade to the latest version of VTube. Earlier versions will absolutely not read the ball probe center with this driver.

Arm Compatibility: Even though we have not tested this driver version with any FARO arm previous to the QUANTUM arms, we have customers that are using it with Edge arms.

Note: Older versions of VTube-LASER cannot handle the high rate of incoming points for this FARO driver.

This version has a completely redesigned LASER scanner calibration procedure.

In the version 6 family, versions earlier than 6.1.1.6 are not recommended for VTube-LASER.

The incoming point speed and button presses are slower than with the newer driver and the newer VTube-LASER (see newer drivers).
